Innovation and cooperation, the key factors for the competitiveness of agricultural enterprises. These were the conclusions of the seminar that ACC1Ó – the agency for the competitiveness of the Catalan company of the Department of Enterprise and Employment, together with the Catalan Association of Manufacturers and Exporters of Agricultural Machinery  (FEMAC) organized to discuss the main strategic challenges of the sector, sharing best business practices and generating networking among the comanies.

During the Second  Strategic Immersion of the cluster, which took place on 12th and 13th of  July in Pals (Girona),  the improvement of the competitiveness of the cluster and all the catalan agents that make up de value chain, was raised, getting involved the 25 companies that participated.

Workshop on Open Innovation

Innovation has been one of the topics discussed during the workshop with a presentation by Xavier Marcet, LTC Project. The cluster members have approached the concept of Open Innovation, which seeks to go beyond technological innovation to incorporate it also in the business models, not just in products.

The Colombian market opportunities for the sector

The Director of the Center for Business Promotion ACC1Ó in Colombia, Frederic Subirats, explained to the attendees the opportunities offered by the Colombian market for agricultural machinery sector.

He also emphasized the different ways that Catalan companies have to access this country either by exporting or partnering with local companies.

Synergies and commitment to the planet

Moreover, Jaume Martinez, CEO of COMEXI GROUP, presented his company, world leader in the field of machinery and services for the processing industry of flexible packaging, how they have assumed the sustainability in their business model.

The change management

As a culmination of the immersion, the participants attended the renowned psychologist, Ms. Assumpció  Salat.  Her speech invited to the reflection of the fears that people have and how to see the life through the problems by yourself.
