Discover the New Edition of Precision Agriculture Course! 🌾💻
Following the resounding success of the first edition, FEMAC, the representative of machinery and agricultural production companies in Catalonia, announces the arrival of its outstanding precision agriculture course. This training, focused on digitalization, aims to enhance processes and adopt technologies that increase efficiency and profitability in the agricultural sector.
The course has the collaboration of prestigious institutions such as the University of Lleida, the Eurecat Foundation, the Agricultural Research Center of Catalonia (IRTA), and the Agricultural Mechanization Unit of the UPC. In addition, significant commercial and manufacturing companies lend their support to this initiative.
With a total duration of 25 hours, the course offers 18 hours of theoretical content in a cutting-edge online format and 4 hours of practical in-person sessions, scheduled for September. The curriculum will focus on crucial topics such as process automation, data management, software and hardware implementation, and the integration of emerging technologies.
It is important to highlight that this call complies with all the requirements established in Resolution ACC/1172/2022, issued on April 21. The resolution offers support for precision agriculture and 4.0 technologies in the agricultural sector, within the framework of the Plan for promoting sustainability and competitiveness in agriculture and livestock (III) under the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan for the year 2022.
The purpose of this training is to equip farmers, owners, and operators of agricultural exploitations with the necessary skills in new agricultural technologies to lead intelligent agriculture projects and embrace digital transformation. The aim is to combine traditional agronomic knowledge with the application of advanced technologies, delving into the use and learning of equipment equipped with variable work systems, mapping, and communication.
The course will cover a wide range of competencies, including knowledge and capacity to apply automation and control technologies for machines and agricultural processes. Additionally, you will learn precision irrigation techniques based on the measurement of soil and plant variables, and the use of decision support systems in the management of irrigation in irrigable areas. Topics such as Big Data and algorithms for automated decision-making, as well as knowledge of Intelligent Systems for Production Monitoring, will also be addressed.
The main objective of this initiative is to provide participants with the knowledge and tools necessary to lead intelligent agricultural projects and embrace digital transformation in the sector.
