The third women’s conference organized by FEMAC —and the second in collaboration with FEMEL— took place this Wednesday, September 10, at the Parc Agrobiotech de Gardeny (Lleida), bringing together professionals from the agricultural and metallurgical sectors to reflect on how artificial intelligence (AI) can transform the productive future.
As a novelty this year, the event was also open to men as spectators, broadening the perspective and fostering a more inclusive debate on the role of technology and people in innovation.
The meeting began with a keynote by Laia Morales, trainer and speaker in generative AI and co-founder of Bexperience, who explained the differences between traditional AI and generative AI, stressing that “ChatGPT is not Google”. Morales highlighted one of today’s greatest challenges: the need to increase productivity in the face of workers’ lack of time—an area where AI can be an essential ally.
Next, Iolanda Simó, Eurecat Lleida’s regional director, presented the role of the technology center as a strategic partner for companies and showcased some recent projects where artificial intelligence is already delivering tangible solutions.
One of the most inspiring moments of the day was the space dedicated to participants of the FemAgro TIC acceleration program, promoted by FEMAC with the support of the Department of Business and Labour. The entrepreneurs presented projects that combine innovation, sustainability, and a strong territorial dimension:
Natalia Ojosnegros, Agrodevices: electronic devices for efficient water management in agriculture.
Magda Plzas, Feixa Texotica: an innovative agrotourism project that promotes exotic crops and technology.
María del Carmen, Mas d’En Causa and Celler 28.12: ecological farming and circular economy linked to agri-livestock and tourism.
Minerva Porte, New Pasture: an innovation hub giving a second life to sheep’s wool.
At the entrance of the venue, attendees could visit the FemAgro TIC Living Innovation Spaces, a showcase of real solutions developed within the acceleration program. This space allowed participants to discover firsthand projects already underway that demonstrate how women-led innovation is generating impact in the agri-food sector and beyond.
The event concluded with a networking lunch, a meeting point for companies, institutions, and entrepreneurs that facilitated the creation of synergies and new collaborations.
FEMAC and FEMEL highlighted the positive outcome of this conference, which is consolidating itself as a reference space for showcasing female talent, connecting knowledge, and opening pathways towards a more digital, sustainable, and inclusive productive future.
